About the event
We invite TRIM8 patients and their families, as well as interested medical professionals, to join us for a virtual event on December 13, 2025 from 8:00 - 11:00 AM EST (US).
This event will begin with a research update from Dr. Amar Majmundar and Dr. Simone Sanna-Cherchi who first spoke to our group in 2021. They will discuss their recent work concerning mechanistic TRIM8 studies as well as their ongoing work and a proposal for a TRIM8 clinic. This will be followed by a question and answer period.
Next on the agenda will be TRIM8 Patient Group planning. Items for discussion include potential sources of research funding, co-ordinating patient participation in research, and a call for TRIM8 related publications. The event will close with a Patient Discussion Forum led by the parent of an adult child with TRIM8 syndrome. She will discuss her family’s medical journey including the medical questions that remain in the search for effective treatments for her daughter who is now in her forties but was only recently diagnosed with TRIM8. She will share her wisdom as a parent and patient advocate before opening the floor for a general patient discussion.
